Ice Fishing & Snowmobiling Day Trip
On this day trip from Sapporo, we’ll drive deep into the mountains to Lake Kanayama – a lake ringed by mountains - to one of the best ice fishing locations in Hokkaido. You’ll be taught how to fish for smelt through holes drilled into the ice, and with luck, you’ll be able to catch a few dozen of the small fish. Any fish you catch will be fried up on the spot into tempura for a delicious, truly Hokkaido snack. You’ll be sitting inside a tent, protected from the elements, so you won’t feel very cold. Next, we’ll drive into Furano for lunch at a restaurant of your choice. After lunch, we’ll go for a 10km snowmobiling adventure through the snowy fields and forests outside Furano. Although the course is suitable even for complete beginners, children under 15 can only be passengers on the snowmobiles. We’ll also visit an artisan village and a newly built shopping plaza selling local products. This day trip is a great way to immerse yourself in winter in Hokkaido!
